Eldorado Road - Dreamfields Fiano 2023

Fiano is a variety we believe has great potential in Australia and particularly in Victoria’s north-east, so much so that in 2022 we planted it at our home vineyard in Eldorado. While we await the fruits of our labour, we have the privilege of a single vineyard at Whorouly South in the Alpine Valleys GI. Managed by brothers Tim and Mark Walpole, the Bungamero Vineyard provides us with perfect fruit for our endeavour.

The grapes are pressed straight to seasoned French oak barriques, with 50% fermented by indigenous wild yeast and 50% inoculated by CY Yeast to promote the production of complex sulphide. The wine is then aged a further five months in oak on full lees with bimonthly stirring.

The resultant wine is generous in flavour and texture yet supported by a clean natural line of acidity. Think peach, white flowers and grapefruit. Everything is in harmony and balance, displaying a Fiano that looks ‘at home’ in spite of being on the other side of the globe to its Italian origins.

Located in the Beechworth foothills, Eldorado Road is a family winery dedicated to producing high quality wines that are both subtle and elegant.
